2013 Acura RDX Prototype at 2012 Detroit Motor Show

2013 Acura RDX Prototype  introduced In 2012 Detroit Motor Show. A prototype of the redesigned compact crossover arriving at dealerships across the country in Spring 2012 and is the third generation to debut the 2013 Acura RDX Prototype. Acura RDX can accommodate five passengers and a size-which features a longer wheelbase and wider track that produces more passenger space and cargo volume increases. Styling both inside and outside the mainstream deliberately more though Acura beak-like front grille remains.

At the Detroit Show presentation, Assistant Vice President of Acura Product Planning, Vicki Poponi, said: “As you can see us grow from an RDX, a sporty compact SUV for a more formal with a hood, more statues and more elegant styling and sophisticated to match our philosophy of timeless, beautiful design.”

One of the most important changes for new Acura RDX is located under the hood as the Acura models to replace the current 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-four engine with V-6 3.5-liter that produces 273 hp. Despite a significant increase in power (33 hp), said that the 2013 Acura RDX is more fuel efficient than its predecessor with anticipated EPA fuel economy rating 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway for the model front-wheel-drive (vs. 19 mpg and 24 mpg respectively).

2013 Acura RDX models also get a standard 6-speed transmission with automatic torque converter lock-up and light the available all-wheel-drive system, both of which help improve fuel economy.

Other updates include all-new dampers reactive amplitude, a motion adaptive system is a new electronic power steering, and a host of new technologies such as Pandora Internet radio interface, SMS text messaging feature, Smart Access keyless entry system, the start button push, and three rear view camera.
